Setup
Booze and a Television (from 5pm-6:30pm or from 10pm-11:30pm)
Rules to drink by
Prior to the news block, define the rules (some are standard, as listed here, others can be added based on your geographic area/other factors) This is probably the quickest way to be BOMBED in an hour and a half.
RULES:
[Drink the number listed – shots or sips – for each “offense”]
1 – Local news mentions your hometown
2 – National news mentions your home state
3 – September 11 referenced as “nine-eleven”
2 – House fire
7 – Couch fire
1 – Everytime a reporter signs off with, “I’m (NAME), for XYZ News”
2 – News promoting another station event/broadcast (sports broadcast/entertainment show/phooey)
4 – Michael Jackson is mentioned
2 – Station franchise is used (i.e. “StormTracker”, “Traffic Alert”, “Sound-Off”, etc)
5 – MISTAKES…any graphic or video cue/rolling mistakes, ASSIGN 5 drinks.
COMMERCIAL BREAK BONUSES
6-60 rule: Any products marketed specifically for the under 6 or over 60 demographic (diapers, adult diapers, kids toys, kids cereal, medicare programs..etc – it’s all up for debate). ONE DRINK.
PROMO BONUSES
Any station promo (commercial for the news, promo spot for any station event or franchise (web, contest, etc). ONE DRINK
Any proof-of-performance spot (…”if you watched us this week, you saw..”), meaning any promo talking about past events on the station. TWO DRINKS
