Hot Carl
Setup
Deck of Cards, Plenty of beer
Rules to drink by
This game is basically like indian poker. Everyone sits around a table or in a circle in the room that has no mirrors (important!). Each player is dealt a card face down, and once everyone has one everyone places the card on their forehead facing out so everyone can see it but them (this is why mirrors are bad to have in the room). At this point you start with the person left of the dealer, and if they think their card is the highest at the table (or they can choose to try to bluff out the higher cards they see) they stay, otherwise then can fold. Heres how it works for drinking. Aces beat anything, and the ace of spades is ‘Hot Carl’… if you fold hot carl you have to chug an entire beer, however if you choose to stay and you have hot carl you get to make a rule. Anytime someone folds the highest card at the table they must drink for 10 seconds. Otherwise, if you fold and you do not have the highest card you drink for only 2 seconds. If you decide to stay, and your card does not win you must drink the amount on your card (J is 11, Q is 12, K is 13). In the event of a tie (two players stay and both have the highest card at the table) there is a showdown. Each player is dealt a card as before, only now they go head to head and can ‘bet’ in terms of beer how much the loser has to drink (either bet in terms of sips, seconds, amount of a full beer, etc). If one of them folds in the showdown they must drink either the last amount THEY bet, or a minimum of 5 seconds drinking if no bets were placed before they folded. Thats about it, be sure to shuffle the deck often so no one will know when hot carl will come out next…
