Rules to drink by

Set Up and Game Play

Before you start you will need a normal deck of 52 cards, enough beer for everyone, and some friends. Everyone that is playing then gathers around a table, the cards are then suffled and placed face down in a circle around a can of beer called the Beer of Friends (BOF). Play begins when the first player draws a card. After the player follows the rule the card requires, he/she then places the card onto the BOF with two corners hanging off. If the card does not stay on the can the player must take a drink and try again until it does stay. If a player knocks off ANY of the other cards already on the BOF he/she must finish his/her beer. The game continues until all cards are drawn. After the last card is drawn and the appropriate rule followed, the Beer of Friends is then opened and everyone takes a drink. To make the game last longer you may add cards that are knocked off the BOF back into the cicle, or use more than one deck of cards.

[edit] Card Rules

Ace
Waterfall – All players drink until the player before puts his/her cup down. The drawer is the first to put his/her cup down.

King
Make a Rule – The drawer makes a Rule that all players must follow. Anyone who breaks the rule must take a drink. The next King replaces the Rule.

Queen
Question Master – The drawer becomes the Question Master. Anyone who answers a question asked by Question Master must take a drink. The Question Master may ask as many questions as he/she likes while he/she is the Question Master. The next Queen replaces the Question Master.

Jack
Thumb Master – The drawer becomes the Thumb Master. Anytime the Thumb Master puts his/her thumb on the table everyone else must follow, the last person to put his/her thumb on the table must take a drink. The next Jack replaces the Thumb Master.

Ten
Category – The drawer chooses a Category and an example and everyone in turn says another example. Continues around the circle until someone repeats something or takes too long and must take a drink. Example, the player who draws the card says “Beer” as the category and then says “Bud Light” as the his/her example.

Nine
Bust-a-Rhyme – The drawer says a word and the player next to him/her must say a word that rhymes with it. Continues around the table until someone repeats a word or cannot rhyme and must take a drink.

Pick a Mate – The drawer chooses a ‘Mate’ and both players must drink whenever the other must drink. The players remain Mated until the next Eight is drawn.

Seven
Sentence – The drawer says a word that starts the sentence, the next player repeats the first word and adds a second word to the sentence, the third player repeats the first two words and adds a third word, and so on. Continues around the table until someone breaks the sentence and must take a drink.

Six
Dicks – All guys must toast each other and take a drink.

Five
Never Have I Ever… – The drawer makes a true statement beginning with “Never have I ever . . .” and says something he/she has never done. All players who HAVE done the thing that is said must take a drink.
