Setup

Deck of cards, shot glasses (1 per player), some form of alcohol, a flat surface,

Rules to drink by

The cards are dealt equally to each player (or as close as is possible). Players are not allowed to look at their cards. The player to the left of the dealer then begins play by taking the first card from the top of their pile and playing it face up in the middle of the table and saying “ace”. Subsequent players follow suit, playing cards and saying the next number in order (eg, first player says Ace, secind says 2, third says 3 and so on). When King is reached, start again at ace. On the rare occasion when the number called out is the same as the card played, all players must “slam” the deck, putting their hands in the middle. The last person to put their hand in takes all the cards and one shot. The first person to slam then leads play for the next round. The game ends when one person has all the cards.

Alternate Rules:
There are a few extra rules that can be played, and given the penalty of choice:
If someone plays out of turn, they pick up the pile of cards and take a shot.
If someone slams incorrectly (eg when the card played is a 4 and the number reached in the counting was 8), they pick up the cards and take a shot.
If someone complains – with lots of players, slamming can get quite violent, and if you’re the last person to slam you can avoid picking up cards by slamming the pile of hands as hard as you can. Anyone who complains due to pain before the loser picks up the cards has to pick them up instead.
